Lincoln Sentinel-Republican, Nov. 3, 1949. Edward Lawrence Coil
Edward Lawrence Coil, for many years a resident of Lincoln, died Saturday [Oct. 29] at his home in Salina, six days before his 81st birthday.
Born Oct. 23, 1868, in Missouri, he had lived in Salina since leaving Lincoln 16 years ago. He was a member of the Presbyterian church.
He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Rachel Coil of the home; a daughter, Mrs. Rozella Taylor, Salina; and four sons, Lawrence Eugene Coil, Salina; Uriah Denning Coil and Clifford Harvey Coil, Denver; and George E. Coil, Los Angeles. The family also includes 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Coil in Geary, Okla, and three sisters, Mrs. Effie Reed, Alva, Okla.; Mrs. Iva Herman, Lincoln, and Minnie Coil, Geary.
Funeral services for Mr. Coil were held Tuesday at the Guy R. Ryan and Sons mortuary in Salina. The Rev. James. S. Elliott officiated and burial was in Gypsum Hill cemetery.
