- ROCK FALLS - James A. (Spike) Ehredt of Rock Falls died early this morning in a Sterling hospital. Born March 16, 1939, in Jo Daviess County, Mr. Ehredt was the son of Martin and Luella (Smith) Ehredt. He attended the Stockton and Hanover schools. His marriage to Patricia Mullane took place in Savanna, April 8, 1958. He was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Falls and the Teamster's Union. He was employed by Peoria Cartage Co. and Don Crawford's City Service Station in Sterling.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Michael and Martin, both at home; his parents of Stockton; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Elizabeth) Duff of Hanover and Mrs. Donald (Etta) Cox of Thomson; a brother, Martin O. of Barrow, Alaska; and maternal grandmother, Mrs. Adelia Smith of Mount Carroll. Funeral service for Mr. Ehredt will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Wheelock-Allen Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Rev. J. M. Johnson, pastor of Rock Falls Immanuel Lutheran Church, will officiate.
