  Died: SAVANNA?Etta Mae (Ehredt) Mathis, 87, of Savanna, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2022, at the home that she shared with her partner, David. 80369371 The grace and peace she carried is unmatched and to know her, you felt blessed. Most knew her as Mema, always impactful, wisest of words, incredibly hardworking. She unconditionally loved her family with focus, determination and her faith in the lord. Etta was born on March 26, 1935, in Massbach, to Martin and Luella (Smith) Ehredt. She graduated from Stockton High School. She was a long time employee of GE and retired in 1997. Etta was a member of Argo Fay Methodist Church and enjoyed a variety of hobbies over the years. These included cooking, riding horses, cards, reading, bird watching, traveling, gardening and spending time with family and friends. Etta is survived by partner; three sons; two daughters and their husbands; two daughters-in-law; nine grandchildren; a great number of great-grandchildren; sister; brother; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Luella; brother, James A. (Spike) Ehredt; daughter-in-law, Diane Cox; brother-in-law, Bob Duff; a great-grandson and son, Donald Martin. Cremation rites have been accorded and private internment following. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date. In lieu of flowers/plants, the family requests donations be made to Caroline Mark Home, in Mount Carroll and/or Argo Fay United Methodist Church Ladies Aid, all organizations Etta strongly supported.
